The regional budget will co-finance a start-up project on the development of a drone for delivery and surveillance “Besomar 3310”

The competition of innovative start-up projects in symbiosis with a crowdfunding approach is implemented for the first time by the Department of Economic Policy of the Lviv Regional Military Administration within the framework of the Program for Promotion of Innovation and Scientific and Technological Development.

In connection with the large-scale armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine and taking into account the military needs of the region within the framework of the thematic direction of startup projects “Military and/or dual purpose” approved by the Competition Council, 7 project applications were submitted to the competition from five individual entrepreneurs and two limited liability companies in the amount of co-financing from the regional budget of UAH 1,348.75 thousand.

These include: unified inserts for FPV drone drop systems, ground-based drones, unmanned aerial delivery and surveillance systems, kamikaze drones, and more.

“In view of the fact that the time frame for the implementation of startup projects is limited, the members of the competition board decided to allocate co-financing funds for the implementation of the startup project, which already has local components for the production of the prototype and will be transferred for the needs of 125 OBrTrO of the military brigade of the Lviv region. This is a project for the development of the Besomar unmanned aerial delivery and surveillance complex with a total cost of UAH 599,998.70 thousand, of which 50% is raised by the project through crowdfunding, the rest is co-financed by the Regional State Administration,” said the director of the department, Stepan Kuybida.

As the department informed, the aerocomplex is capable of conducting surveillance and video recording at a distance of 30 km and from a safe height of 800 m. It can also deliver cargo up to 2 kg to the desired point within a radius of 30 km, in automatic mode or under the guidance of a pilot, with return.

The “Besomar 3310” delivery complex consists of 3 aircraft. Aircraft can perform the task both by GPS coordinates and in manual mode. The drone has high aerodynamic characteristics, which allows it to fly over long distances with the engine turned off and ensures high safety and stability of the device in emergency situations.
