Over nine months, the amount of development expenditures increased in the budgets of 20 hromadas of the Lviv Oblast

The Department of Finance of the Lviv Oblast State Administration reported on the expenditures for the development of hromadas.

One of the important markers of hromadas’ financial capacity is the positive dynamics of expenditures for their development. However, today’s conditions: Russian aggression, destruction of infrastructure, increased spending on defence and assistance to the victims, a decline in economic activity and outflow of population, including the working-age population, create enormous pressure on local budgets. Their financial capacity and expenditure structure are deteriorating significantly. The Department of Finance of the Lviv Regional State Administration reported on expenditures for the development of territorial communities over 9 months.

This year, in the Lviv Oblast, over 9 months, total expenditures from local budgets exceeded UAH 28.5 billion, which is UAH 1.3 billion less than in the same period in 2023 (by 4.5%). At the same time, development expenditures decreased to UAH 6.3 billion (by UAH 2.3 billion, or 27%).

“While 29 per cent of all local budget resources were allocated to community development during the reporting period last year, this year only 22 per cent.

And yet, in such difficult conditions, 20 territorial communities have achieved positive results in their budgets and increased the amount of development expenditures. This was achieved through the use of various strategies, such as effective resource management, attraction of international assistance and state budget funds, cooperation with business, etc.”, the Department of Finance says.

The Sokilnytsia territorial community managed to triple its development expenditures (303%). Development expenditures increased in the Rava-Ruska (78%), Slavska (74%), Zymnovodivska (73%), Zhovkivska (68%), Murovenska (63%), Komarnivska (60%) communities.

The growth rates of development expenditures are somewhat lower in the Radekhiv community – by 53%, Rozvadivka (52%), Hlynyany (50%), Khyriv (39%), Sokal (21%), Peremyshlyany (18%), Belz (15%), Shehyne (11.5%), Morshyn and Truskavets (10%), Mostyska and Stryi (6%) communities.

Thanks to the efforts of the defence forces and the coordinated and professional work of all participants in the budget process and business, better results for community development can be achieved.
