Support of war participants and their families is one of the priorities in Lviv. From 2016 to 2022, financial assistance in the amount of 10,000 hryvnias was paid to the children of ATO/OOS participants who died (missing) or died, and Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. During this time, 912 children (under the age of 18 or under 23 – if they study full-time at a higher education institution) received assistance.

Also, from 2015 to 2022, the children of the participants of the ATO/OOS, injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity and Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, were provided with one-time financial aid for recovery. During this time, 3,178 child defenders received such payments (up to 18 years of age in the amount of 3, 4, 6 and 7 thousand hryvnias for each child, depending on the categories). Applications for these programs were accepted by the Lviv Center for the Provision of Services to Combatants, located at 41 Pekarska Street.

It should be noted that before the start of the full-scale invasion, about 7,000 war participants (ATO/OOS) lived in Lviv, now the number of our soldiers is many times greater. The Lviv City Council is doing everything to help them as much as possible. These are material support, benefits, treatment, prosthetics and rehabilitation, psychological and legal consultations, adaptation to civilian life – through excursions, art and other activities, support for veteran businesses and various social assistance programs.
