The machine was created on the basis of the MT-LB and is intended for the transportation and evacuation of the wounded in hard-to-reach areas of the front, under fire and in off-road conditions.
“It’s an absolutely new car, not even the packaging has been removed from the seats,” MTLB driver Vitaliy is happy about the “renewal” and lists the advantages of the sanitary car: “Light, maneuverable, and protected compared to ordinary medical cars.”
The combat vehicle is equipped specifically for the needs of medics on the front line. The landing compartment has a slightly higher height, which makes it possible to place the wounded on stretchers in two tiers. In addition, the machine has a special winch for lifting the stretchers to the second level, and the stretchers themselves can be fixed using special mechanisms in order to minimize shaking during transportation.
“Brigade and battalion medics often have to evacuate the wounded from the battlefield under fire, risking their own lives. Therefore, the extra protection that this machine has will allow you to feel more protected while doing your job. In addition, the car can pass in places where wheeled vehicles would simply get bogged down in the swamp. And every such tractor is the saved lives of the defenders,” emphasized the head of the medical service of the 103rd brigade, Rostyslav Bilavka.
