Due to the abnormal heat, trucks in Lviv were banned from entering the city

Due to an abnormal heatwave of more than 30 degrees, a heat alert has been introduced in the city and region.

As a result, the entry of large vehicles into the city is restricted. The restrictions are in effect from 10:00 to 20:00. Patrol police are working at the entrances to Lviv to prevent vehicles from entering and direct large vehicles to parking areas.

“Such restrictions are introduced to prevent damage to the road surface. This is provided for by the requirements of the current legislation,” the Patrol Police Department explains.

Restrictions and traffic bans apply to heavy vehicles weighing more than 24 tonnes and with an axle load of more than 7 tonnes.

Therefore, drivers of large vehicles are asked to take into account the restrictions and not enter the city during the specified hours, and transport logistics companies are asked to use smaller vehicles for deliveries around the city. The restrictions do not apply to vehicles transporting dangerous, perishable goods, live animals and poultry, as well as to transport related to the prevention or response to emergencies, etc.
