With the assistance of the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, almost 280,000 packs of cigarettes and 7,200 kg of tobacco for the total amount of more than UAH 7 million will be transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, physical evidence with a total value of more than UAH 21 million was confiscated from the state. In particular, an industrial line for the production of cigarettes and a packaging machine. Funds received from the further sale of the specified equipment are also determined to be transferred to the army.
All this was removed during the pre-trial investigation of the criminal proceedings against three members of an organized group on the fact of illegal manufacture and storage of tobacco products with illegal use of the mark for goods and services (Part 3 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 204, Part 3 of Article 15, Part 3 of Article 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Also, the accused voluntarily deposited UAH 150,000 into the ZSU account.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region under the operational support of the USR in the Lviv region of the DSR of the National Police of Ukraine.
