Drohobych is Developing a Concept for Memorials to Fallen Soldiers

In the city of Drohobych, which has suffered from the effects of the full-scale war, an initiative has been launched to create a unified concept for honoring the memory of fallen defenders. In particular, it proposes the organization of well-maintained cemeteries and the installation of monuments at the cemetery on 22 January Street.

This issue was discussed at a meeting of the working group under the leadership of Vasyl Kachmar, Deputy Mayor. Representatives from municipal management, architecture, and the families of the fallen Heroes also participated in the meeting. The presented project includes the creation of vertical monuments in the form of Cossack white crosses with QR codes that provide information about the fallen.

The need for modernizing the existing cemetery infrastructure – establishing security systems and lighting – was also raised. For instance, additional lighting has already been installed on the territory and four additional surveillance cameras have been ordered.

At the conclusion, Lyubov Yanevych from the Pension Fund consulted families about the process of securing state pension guarantees and social benefits for the families of the deceased.
