Two Lviv residents tried to rob a house on Knyagini Olga Street

Criminals who broke into a private house and tried to commit theft were arrested in Lviv

The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

As the employees of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 established, on January 11, around 8:00 p.m., two criminals, taking advantage of the absence of the owners, broke into one of the houses located on Knyagini Olga Street in Lviv to commit a theft. However, the owner of the neighboring house prevented them from bringing their intention to completion – seeing that something suspicious was happening in the neighbor’s house, he called the emergency line 102 and, together with the police, took an active part in apprehending the thieves.

The perpetrators have been identified – they turned out to be two Lviv residents aged 27 and 30 – both were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers seized stolen items from them: household appliances and other property.

According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 15, Part 4 of Article 185 (Attempt to commit theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is up to eight years of imprisonment.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose precautionary measures for the suspects.
