Lviv Pensioners and People with Disabilities Receive 60 Free Rides in Transport

In Lviv, pensioners by age and people with disabilities of the 3rd group are granted the opportunity to make 60 free rides per month in city transport. Free transfers within 40 minutes are also provided. The decision was made by the city council’s executive committee, taking judicial practice into account.

The changes concern beneficiaries for whom the city, rather than the state, provides fare benefits. This decision allows the city to control the number of rides for these categories of passengers. The city mobility department notes that such measures aim to reduce the financial burden on the budget, as the state does not compensate for privileged travel.

Other beneficiary categories, such as people with disabilities of the 1st and 2nd groups and schoolchildren, can use public transport without restrictions. It is worth recalling that some residents previously used more than 400 trips per month.
