Lviv Plast members celebrated the 112th anniversary of the First Plast Oath

More than four hundred boys and girls gathered to solemnly take the Plast oath.

Today, on April 6, all Plast members of the Lviv region, from the youngest to the oldest, met at the monument to Ivan Franko to solemnly take the oath.

The Day of the First Plast Oath is an annual Plast event dedicated to the founding of the largest youth organization in Ukraine, Plast. This year, Plast celebrates the 112th anniversary of the First Plast Oath Day.

The Plast members were greeted by Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

“Today there are more than 3.5 thousand Plast members in the Lviv region. We have 28 Plast centers, and four more are about to start working. This is the largest number among all the regions of our country.

Last year, our Plast members held a record number of camps in their history – 75! This means that Lviv region has the engine of youth leadership in Ukraine.

I thank the Plast members for their civic and human consciousness, for their strength, courage and responsibility to do what is good for our society and for teaching this to the younger ones. Thank you for being true patriots of Ukraine.

We remember those Plast members who gave their lives for our country.

We thank our defenders that today we were able to gather to celebrate the 112th anniversary of the First Plast Oath,” said the head of Lviv region.

After the event, the participants laid flowers at the memorial plaque to the First Plast Oath in Lviv.

In 2023, four new Plast centers were established in Lviv Oblast (Hrabovets-Dulibove, Truskavets, Skole and Pustomyty), and four more are in the process of being established.

The event was organized by the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the Lviv Regional Plast Center, and the Lviv District of Plast – the National Scout Organization of Ukraine.

For reference:

The Plast oath of allegiance to Ukraine was first taken by 10 young men in Lviv on April 12, 1912. That is why this day is traditionally considered the organization’s birthday.

On April 13, 2021, with the support of the Lviv Regional Association of Plast, the Lviv Regional Plast Center was established in Lviv as part of the regional program for the support and development of Plast for 2021-2025. The institution conducts Plast camps, educational seminars, workshops, trainings, and field presentations for children, pupils, and students of Lviv region.
