Lviv restorers restored the historic doors on Tymoshenkiv Street

In Lviv, the historic door on the street was restored. Tymoshenko, 2a. The restoration work was carried out within the framework of the city’s co-financing program for the restoration of valuable elements in historic buildings. The work lasted about three months.

“At first glance, the work on the gate looked simple. But, in fact, the door leaf had significant damage. The holes from the old locks remained here, the original glazing and authentic latches were lost. All this had to be corrected,” said master restorer Nazar Tymnyak.

Specialists renewed the baseboards, and also replaced the old, damaged fake slats with new ones made according to the historical model.

“The cost of restoration works is about UAH 42,340. The residents’ contribution amounted to UAH 12,702, the rest of the amount was co-financed by the city,” said Pavlo Bogajchyk, director of the “Heritage Bureau” LCP.

In total, in 2022, 29 gates were restored in the historical part of the city, in cooperation with the residents.
