On January 6, at 3:36 PM, the Rescue Service received a report of a fire in a nine-story dormitory located on Yevhen Pluzhnyk Street in Lviv.
Firefighting units promptly arrived at the scene under an elevated response protocol. Wearing breathing apparatus for safety, firefighters immediately began evacuating residents and tackling the blaze.
Using specialized equipment, they successfully rescued 5 individuals, while another 5 residents were safely escorted outdoors to prevent any harm.
The fire broke out in a utility shaft containing cables on the seventh floor of the building. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the rescue teams, the fire was localized by 4:04 PM and fully extinguished by 4:08 PM.
In total, 42 firefighters and 9 specialized vehicles were involved in the operation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
