The memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred in Lviv is decorated for the New Year and Christmas holidays

On December 20, the families of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred will decorate the Memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred in Lviv for the New Year and Christmas holidays. Portraits of the fallen will be decorated with wreaths made of Christmas tree branches and viburnum, which families will collect in their own gardens the day before.

On December 20, the families of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred will gather at the Lviv Theological Seminary of the Holy Spirit at 11:00 a.m. for a joint meeting-prayer, which will be led by the rector of the seminary, Fr. Ihor Boyko. Afterwards, the family will weave Christmas pine wreaths with viburnum and Ukrainian symbols as a symbol of memory of their relatives, the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, to decorate the Memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred in Lviv.

The solemn laying of Christmas wreaths to the portraits of the Heroes at the memorial will begin at 2:00 p.m.

“At Christmas it is customary to gather in the family circle and celebrate with the closest people. However, if most people are in a Christmas mood at this time, the holiday period is the hardest for families whose relatives have died. After all, it reminds of a loss that cannot be returned. The action, which has become traditional, was launched by the NGO “Family of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred” in 2017 in Lviv. It is designed to unite the families of Heroes and soften the emotional wounds of our families,” said Nataliya Dygdalovich, wife of Andrii Dygdalovich, Hero of the Heavenly Hundred.
