In the Lviv region, the police detained an attacker suspected of murdering his own sister

As the law enforcement officers established, during the conflict, a 55-year-old man hit his 64-year-old sister with a brick and a log – she died soon after from her injuries. The detainee faces up to fifteen years in prison for the crime.

On October 6, around 7:00 a.m., a resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district contacted the police and reported that he had discovered the body of a local woman with signs of violent death in the yard of one of the private houses.

The investigative and operative group and other employees of police department No. 2 of the Lviv district police department No. 2, as well as forensic experts and canine experts of the Lviv region police worked on the spot. As the law enforcement officers established, her brother, a 55-year-old resident of the same village, with whom she lived in the same house, was involved in the murder of a woman, a 64-year-old local resident.

The night before, there was a conflict between them, during which the attacker hit the woman with a brick, and then hit her on the head with a wooden log, after which he went to sleep. According to experts, the woman died at the scene from her injuries.

The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of selecting a preventive measure for him is being resolved.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the detainee about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to fifteen years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
