In the Lviv region, the police detained an attacker on suspicion of murdering his son-in-law

It was preliminarily established that there was a domestic conflict between the men. Both were intoxicated. For the crime committed, the detainee is liable to imprisonment for up to fifteen years.

According to law enforcement officers, on July 21, around 11 p.m. in one of the villages of the Stryi district, a domestic conflict arose between men, during which the perpetrator, a 49-year-old resident of the district, stabbed his 30-year-old relative in the chest with a kitchen knife. The wound turned out to be fatal – the man died at the scene from the injuries he received. Both participants in the conflict were intoxicated.

An investigative and operative group, operatives of the criminal police and employees of other services of the Stryi district police department worked on the spot. Law enforcement officers detained the perpetrator in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The issue of notifying a detainee of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 115 (Deliberate murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being resolved. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to fifteen years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the perpetrator.
