As of February 2025: Gradual Decrease of Water in Rivers of Lviv Region

On the morning of February 8, 2025, rivers in the Lviv region demonstrated a gradual decrease in water levels, varying from 1 to 7 cm, with some local areas experiencing declines up to 15 cm, particularly in the city of Stryi near the hydro post of the Stryi River. Meanwhile, sections of some rivers recorded a slight increase in water levels by two centimeters per day. Special attention should be paid to the mountain tributaries of the Dniester, where an increase in ice processes was observed, including the formation of ice barriers and slush.

The water temperature in the region’s rivers was near the zero mark and varied from 0 to 3.4°C. It is predicted that the decline in water levels will continue over the next day, and the activity of ice phenomena will persist.
