The grave of a UPA rebel who became the hero of Vasyl Shklyar’s historical novel “Troscha” was found in Lviv Oblast

“After several years of searching, the grave of the rebel Stryky has been found! It is in Skolivshchyna on Mount Obich not far from the village of Korchyn. The hero’s real name is Petro Korchynskyi,” Shklyar wrote.

Stryyko belonged to the militant group that guarded the famous GOSP – the main center of propaganda of the OUN-UPA, in which Poltava, Gornovy, the writer Bohdana Svitlyk (Maria Dmytrenko) worked and where Roman Shukhevich came to a meeting in 1947.

The book “Troscha” says that when all of Korchinsky’s friends died, he remained in the forest alone and “lasted until 1962.”

Research work was carried out by the “Robert” group.
