On Saturday, September 16, the Lviv region, together with millions of participants from 191 countries of the world, joins the “World Cleanup Day” 2023 in Ukraine.
World Cleaning Day will be held under the slogan: “Let the sky be peaceful and Ukraine clean!”. The main goal is the formation of a culture of cleanliness, proper waste management and responsible consumption among citizens, joining efforts for the sake of an ecological future.

Organizers urge not to make mass gatherings and to participate only in clean-ups at locations recommended and authorized by local self-government bodies, having previously passed safety briefings and to go down to the shelter during an alarm signal.

From August 16 to September 16, 2023, commercial and non-commercial organizations, companies and government institutions, whose employees join in various formats at the level of corporate social responsibility, mass media, opinion leaders, and ordinary citizens, will participate.
This is an additional opportunity to draw attention to issues related to waste and environmental problems in our country today. This year, taking into account the war and quarantine restrictions, new formats are planned to choose from:
digital cleanup (letsdoitukraine.org/digitalcleanup);
formation of the National map of points of reception of secondary raw materials “Find, sort, return” (recyclingpoints.org);
family and individual cleaning at home or recommended locations, on the territories of educational institutions and institutions;
demolition of debris.
The organizers also invite Ukrainians abroad to join, who will be able to organize cleaning, join an international event, thank the host cities and support their hometown even from a distance.

By the way, in 2022, 119,926 participants in 24 regions joined the World Cleaning Day in Ukraine. With joint efforts, it was possible to collect 2,439 tons of waste, of which 70.5 tons of found secondary raw materials were handed over for processing.
