The police of the Lviv Region urges all road users – car drivers and cyclists – to strictly follow the requirements of the Traffic Rules, be attentive, do not exceed the speed limit, maneuver carefully and constantly monitor the road situation. Take care of life and health – your own and those around you.
The traffic accident happened on May 26 on the Lviv-Sambir-Uzhhorod highway near the village of Luky, Sambir district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the “MAN” truck with a semi-trailer, a 33-year-old resident of Lviv, hit a cyclist, a local resident aged 62, who was making a turn maneuver. As a result of the collision, the cyclist received injuries and was hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Sambir district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
