Yesterday at 20:00, rescuers received a report that tourists had gotten lost in a forest near Mount Teteriv in the village of Nyzhnya Rozhanka, Stryi district.
As it turned out, the lost people asked for help themselves. Three young men, aged 18-19, residents of Kyiv, were walking in the mountains and realised that they had lost their bearings and would not be able to get out of the forest on their own.
Rescuers of the Slavske Mountain Search and Rescue Group were sent to search for the lost people.
At 21:00, the lost people were found. The young people did not need medical care. The tourists were then transported to the village of Slavske, from where they were able to return to their base.
The search operation involved 7 rescuers and 2 units of special equipment.
We urge you to plan your hiking trip responsibly.
Remember the 5 rules for tourists:
📌 Before going to the mountains or forest, you need to study a map of the area or better go with someone who knows the area well.
📌 Make sure your mobile phone is fully charged.
📌 Check the weather forecast.
📌 Appropriate clothing and equipment are required for the trip.
📌 Give preference to bright colours with reflective stripes, so it is easier to spot a lost person during the search.
