Lvivavtodor reminds passengers that when paying for fares with a bank card, funds are not debited from the account immediately, but the next day or later.
The e-ticket system is based on deferred authorisation, which is provided for in particular for the functionality of journeys with transfers.
“The fare is not debited on the same day as the journey. The fares registered for the day of the trip are summed up and then charged to the card in one transaction the next day or later.
If you receive a notification about a charge immediately after the validation of the trip, it is a charge for one of the previous days, not for today. Validations that you made today will be charged in one payment the next day or within a few days.
For example, you go to work and make one validation. When you arrive, you see that the cost of one trip has been charged – UAH 15. We explain: this was a charge for the validation that was carried out in the previous days. And for the newly validated fare, the charge will be made over the next few days,” Lvivavtodor said.
As for LeoCards, the funds are usually debited the next day or within a few days. However, passengers can check the current balance on their transport card immediately after paying for the fare at a validator and through EasyPay services. The information is displayed taking into account the reservation of funds for the last trip.
At the same time, passengers are reminded that the controllers do not check the debiting of funds from cards, but rather the validation of the trip. A green mark on the validator and a single beep are confirmation of successful trip registration.
When paying in cash, the passenger must receive a one-time paper ticket from the driver. It must be kept until the end of the journey.
By the way, in Lviv, almost 90% of public transport passengers pay for their travel by cashless payment.
