Poles start blocking Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint

The blocking of the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint has begun. The restrictions will not apply to cars and buses.

This was announced by the State Border Guard Service.

Today, 23 November 2024, at about 10.00 a.m. Kyiv time, Polish protesters began blocking the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint.

According to preliminary information, the blockade will last 48 hours with a possible extension.

As previously reported, no vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes will be allowed to enter Poland. In addition, one truck per hour will be allowed to leave Poland. The restrictions will not apply to cars and buses.

We will inform you additionally about any changes or complications related to the border crossing.

Currently, there is no accumulation of trucks in front of the checkpoint to leave Ukraine. There are about 150 trucks waiting to enter Ukraine. The protesters themselves are one kilometre away from the Polish checkpoint Medyka.
