As a result of a car collision, one person died. In addition, an eight-year-old girl was hospitalized.
The traffic accident occurred on January 15, around 3:30 p.m., on the Lviv-Lutsk highway near the village of Chestyni, Lviv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Hyundai Sonata, a 34-year-old man from Lviv, lost control, drove into the oncoming traffic lane, where he collided with a Renault Kangoo driven by a 37-year-old resident of one of the villages of Lviv district
The driver of the Renault Kangoo died at the scene of the accident, and his passenger, an eight-year-old girl from the Lviv region, was injured and hospitalized.
The driver of the “Hyundai Sonata” was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a preventive measure for him.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
