A law enforcement officer together with a local official rescued two women and a man from a burning house in Horodok during a fire in a private household.
Today, on 14 October, at around 11:00 a.m., Roman Mazur, a senior inspector of the juvenile prevention sector of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2, saw a house on fire while on duty – the three-storey building was burning near the top floor. Together with Ihor Vyzdryk, the head of the Zavereshytsia starosta district, who was nearby, he immediately rushed to help people.
There were three elderly people inside the smoky house – two women and a man. The policeman and the starosta took them out and provided first aid. The 72-year-old rescued woman was handed over to doctors with suspected carbon monoxide poisoning, while the other two victims were examined on the spot.
The fire was promptly extinguished by the State Emergency Service: the fire was preliminarily caused by a short circuit in the electrical wiring.
