Border guards of the Lviv detachment received equipment worth UAH 2.5 million

Recently, as part of the joint project of the Lviv IT Cluster and the Lviv UBA – Guardian, border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment received equipment to protect the border of the detachment’s area and to enable the soldiers of the Shkval rapid response border guard commandant to perform their tasks.

“At the request of the service, we purchased computer equipment, video surveillance systems and many other things that will help protect our border day and night and detect violators at long distances. This amount was raised by people working for more than 300 Cluster member companies. I thank everyone who serves in the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment. These people not only guard the border in the west of our country, but many of them defend our country in hot spots side by side with the entire Defence and Security Forces,” said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military District.

The donated equipment includes computer and networking equipment, video cameras, DVRs and other equipment.

According to Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster, border protection is one of the priority areas for the assistance.

“We cooperate with the Border Guard Service in terms of digitalisation, border control, personnel training, and support everything that helps border guards perform their official and combat tasks. I am grateful to all the companies involved,” he added.

The total value of the transferred property is UAH 2.5 million.

“I am grateful to the management of the UIA and the IT Cluster for their help. We plan to upgrade the Service Control Centre, which will allow us to remotely monitor the work of units and checkpoints in Lviv region. Part of the equipment will be transferred to the Vovchansk direction to the border guards of the Shkval rapid response commandant’s office. The received equipment will strengthen the work on the protection and defence of the designated areas,” said Colonel Oleg Trofimenko, Head of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment.

As part of the meeting, the border guards demonstrated the operation of technical equipment, UAVs, vehicles and weapons used in the service.
