During the session of the Lviv Regional Council on March 12, the Lviv Regional Plast Center was transferred to the balance sheet of the Lviv Regional Plast Center in the village of Dashava, Stryi district. It will be home to local Plast members and will also serve as a training center for Plast members of the entire district – Stryi, Morshyn, Zhydachiv and Dashava – where they will hold meetings and classes on Plast methods.
“Plast in Lviv region has a long tradition, and I am especially pleased that the number of people willing to become Plast members is growing every year. At the same time, the number of educators is currently limited, so children often have to wait for an opportunity to join the community. Plast is an organization that educates conscious, responsible and patriotic citizens, so we want as many young people as possible to have the opportunity to become a member of the organization and develop organically as a person in it,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration, which will provide sectoral management of the municipal institution.
The Lviv Regional Plast Center was established on April 13, 2021. The institution organizes Plast camps, educational seminars, training sessions, workshops, and field presentations for children, pupils, and students of Lviv region. You can watch a video about one of the Plast camps here:
In addition, the Lviv Regional Plast Center is working to develop a regional network of Plast youth centers (homes), educational units, and tent fields (campsites) in the Lviv region.
In 2023, four new Plast centers were established in the Lviv region (Hrabovets-Dulibiv, Truskavets, Skole, and Pustomyty), and four more are in the process of being established. In total, there are 28 centers in Lviv region, with a total of more than 3,500 Plast members, which is the largest number among all regions of Ukraine.
In addition, in 2023, a record number of Plast camps were held – 75, with more than 5,000 participants.
During the summer camps, we financially supported 15 camps in Lviv Oblast; organized 4 first aid training sessions for 300 people and held 12 Plast presentations in the communities of Lviv Oblast.
