A tragedy occurred on the evening of January 22 on the “Lviv-Lutsk” highway, near the village of Velyke Kolodne in the Lviv region, where a passenger car driven by a 27-year-old local resident collided with a MAN truck.
According to law enforcement information, the truck was driven by a 51-year-old resident of the Sheptytskyi district. As a result of the severe impact, the driver of the car sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene of the accident.
Investigative Actions and Criminal Liability
The investigative police of Lviv region, specializing in transportation crime investigations, have initiated criminal proceedings. In particular, a case has been opened under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for imprisonment from three to eight years.
Currently, efforts are being made to establish all the circumstances of the crime, including possible reasons for the traffic rule violations that led to the fatal collision.
