This day honors the memory of the victims of the plane crash.
According to Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, this day 22 years ago became a black page in the history of Lviv and the whole of Ukraine.
On that day, July 27, 2002, residents of the Lviv region gathered to watch the air show. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation of an exciting spectacle.
Everything was going according to plan, when suddenly the Su-27, performing the most difficult aerobatics, lost control and crashed into the crowd of spectators.
“That day, a terrible plane crash claimed the lives of 77 people, including 28 children.
Eternal memory to the victims of the Sknyliv tragedy. My condolences to those who lost their loved ones,” said Maxim Kozitsky.
