Two people were poisoned with carbon monoxide in Lviv today

According to the city department for emergencies, civil protection and territorial defense, this morning in an apartment on the street. A 31-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were poisoned with carbon monoxide in Sadovaya (Zaliznychny district).

The victims were taken to the regional clinical hospital. The emergency crew of Lvivgaz JSC temporarily stopped supplying gas to the apartment. The circumstances of the event are being clarified.

In total, since the beginning of the year, 18 cases of carbon monoxide poisoning have been recorded in the city, as a result of which 44 people were injured, including 13 children. Unfortunately, 1 person died.

Experts reiterate that the main requirement to avoid trouble is the inflow of fresh air into the room where there are heaters – through the window, through the door, and through the ventilation duct, which must be constantly cleaned, and which must have the appropriate draft to exhaust gases escaped into the atmosphere. Where appliances with flue products are installed in the chimney – ie gas cats or columns, etc. – this chimney must also be clean. And in no case in such premises there can be no electric fans. If one of these rules is not followed, the room begins to form carbon monoxide and trouble occurs.

REMEMBER! The gas is explosive, and the slightest violation of the rules can lead to tragedy with human casualties – explosion, fire, poisoning and destruction. For all accidents involving the use of gas (explosion, fire, poisoning), you should call one of the city services: ambulance – 103, fire – 101, gas – 104, police – 102. Any of these services will notify the rest and they will arrive at the scene.
