When adventures go too far: the story of three daredevils
Yesterday, August 07, at about 19:00, rescuers received a report that in the village of Pidhirtsi, Stryi district, three children were stuck on an island 30 meters from the shore in the Dniester River and could not get to the shore on their own.
Rescuers from the 11th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Novyi Rozdil were sent to the scene.
As it turned out, the boys had decided to swim across the river, but the return trip was too much for them.
Once on the islet, they began to call for help. Concerned passers-by called rescuers.
Rescuers used a boat to transport three children, namely two children born in 2010 and one born in 2011, residents of Novyi Rozdil, to the shore and handed them over to police officers.
This case once again reminds us of the importance of parental vigilance and responsibility. Water bodies are dangerous, especially for children who do not always realize the risks.
So rescuers are once again appealing to parents: communicate with your children, explain safety rules to them. Take care of your loved ones.
