Three Pedestrians Injured in Lviv Region in a Single Day: Police Investigate Circumstances

The Lviv Region Police urge citizens to follow traffic rules strictly. Pedestrians are advised to exercise caution, cross roads only at pedestrian crossings and on green lights, and use reflective elements during nighttime or poor visibility conditions. Drivers are encouraged to adhere to speed limits, avoid risky maneuvers, and be especially cautious near intersections and pedestrian crossings.

On January 16, three traffic accidents involving pedestrians occurred in the Lviv region:

  1. Ivano-Frankove Settlement, Yavoriv District, 2:00 PM.
    A 58-year-old driver of a Hyundai Tucson from the Ivano-Frankivsk region struck a 61-year-old woman from a local village. The woman sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
  2. Pasiky-Zubrytski Village, Lviv District, 6:40 PM.
    On the Mukachevo–Lviv highway, a 56-year-old driver of a Toyota Highlander from Vynnyky hit a 56-year-old pedestrian from the Lviv District. The pedestrian was hospitalized with injuries.
  3. Lviv City, Vynnytsia Street, 7:10 PM.
    A 32-year-old Lviv resident driving a Fiat Ducato struck a 43-year-old man from Yavoriv District. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The police have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules). The maximum penalty under this article is up to three years of restricted freedom with a three-year driving ban.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances of each incident.
