Zynoviy Saliak, a deputy of the 1st democratic convocation of the Lviv City Council, passed away in Lviv at the age of 76.

This was announced by Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi. The Lviv community expresses its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

“Zynoviy Saliak, a member of the First Democratic Convocation of the Lviv City Council, passed away at the age of 76 after a serious illness. Mr. Zynoviy was one of the three brave people who first raised the Flag of Ukraine over the City Hall in Lviv in 1990. He was joined by Yevhen Shmorgun and Stefania Shabatura (pictured). To the end, he kept this tradition and even at a respectable age raised our flag every year. We remember! May he rest in peace,” said Andriy Sadovyi.

The date and place of burial will be announced later.
