It was established that for $7,000, the suspect, a 44-year-old from Lviv, undertook to prepare fictitious documents for a “client” – a citizen conscripted into military service, identifying him with a disability group, which made it possible to cross the state border of Ukraine during martial law.
The perpetrator was exposed by the investigators of the especially serious crimes investigation department (detectives) of the investigative department of the police of Lviv region together with the employees of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Western region.
On June 7, law enforcement officers detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine while receiving the entire amount of funds. Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the detainee.
The investigators informed the intruder about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
