Tenth IT forum takes place in Lviv

200 participants, 30 speakers from different communities of Ukraine and international projects are presenting their flagship projects and sharing the successes of e-governance in their cities at the 10th Forum 451˚E in Lviv today.

The 451˚E Forum has been organised in Lviv for 10 years in a row, and this year it sums up the results of the implementation of digital solutions in various spheres of city and community life over the past decade.

“Each year, we took one topic and discussed it in detail. This year we decided to sum up the results, so together with colleagues from other city councils, regional administrations, and central authorities, we are sharing our victories – our key flagship projects that we are proud of and want to develop further.

Over the course of these 10 years, the forum’s topics have changed from new projects that no one knew about or very basic internal things to global conceptual changes in digital transformation: the development of artificial intelligence, the development of systems for a smart city in various fields. Now we are trying to summarise all this and talk to our colleagues about the plans and new challenges that await us in the next 10 years,” said Olena Gunko, the forum’s organiser, CDTO at Lviv City Council.

“For the first time, when we held the forum at the Catholic University, we had very mundane issues, such as document management and internal services. Last year, we dedicated the forum to artificial intelligence, which many of us use in our daily lives, in various household tasks. Today, we will talk about the next changes that are driving our cities and the state. These are issues related to security, openness and transparency. The topics and circumstances may change, but what remains unchanged is that we must be on the move to achieve victory, which is our most important task,” said Andriy Moskalenko, First Deputy Mayor of Lviv.

The forum discussed the big and small victories of e-governance in Ukraine. They presented the development of a document management system in the Lviv City Council, the development of an automated public transport fare collection system in Lutsk, e-health in Vinnytsia, and digital transformation in Kharkiv.

“We appreciate all our newest services when we lose them. I remember when, at the beginning of the war, there was a major cyberattack on the city council’s services and we lost our digital document flow, everyone was shocked because we had to fill in the journals again – it was a lot of problems.

So keep pounding the pavement. If you have interesting ideas that you want to implement in Lviv, you are welcome. The Lviv City Council has all the opportunities for you to moderate, create and then implement it throughout Ukraine,” said Andriy Sadovyi, Mayor of Lviv.

The mayor of Lviv presented the UNBROKEN humanity ecosystem being developed in the city to the forum participants.

The forum will also discuss the digital transformation of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and international projects that promote the development of e-government services. They will also find out how electronic services increase the transparency and effectiveness of democracy in Ukraine.
