This morning, January 11, Lviv deployed 76 specialized vehicles, 32 sweeping motor brushes, and 1,330 janitors to clear the streets of snow. Considering the forecasted blizzard, the City Council urges residents to exercise caution and prepare for adverse weather conditions.
As of 8:00 AM, the following equipment and personnel were working across Lviv’s municipal territory:
- 30 grit spreaders,
- 39 sweeping and sanding tractors,
- 7 loaders,
- 32 sweeping motor brushes,
- 1,330 janitors.
In total, 172 m³ of de-icing materials, including salt and sand mixtures, have been used.
This winter, snow removal equipment operates 24/7 in the city. Over 150 specialized vehicles are involved in the process, and additional agreements with private organizations provide 66 more vehicles for heavy snowfall or drifts. To clean sidewalks, 80 motor blocks and sweeping brushes are also employed.
Moreover, municipal services have placed de-icing material containers at public transport stops, intersections, and uphill areas to ensure traffic safety.
