Fencing will be installed along the area of urban horticulture and gardening “Rossadnyk” in “Zalizna Voda” park. The relevant decision was approved by the executive committee of the city council today. The fence will be erected in order to increase environmental awareness, promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle, reduce the impact on the climate and adapt to the consequences of climate change, and to preserve the previously created infrastructure of the “Nursery”.
“We have been dealing with this space since April 2021. This year they started to grow produce and faced the fact that many residents began to tear down this vegetable garden. We do not spare the cultivated vegetable garden for visitors, if people participate in the development of the space. And here they tear down, destroy the infrastructure, steal materials. Therefore, we wanted to make the space a little safer, and considering the fact that we want to attract more resources for its development, we came up with the idea, shared by all our partners, to install a fence.
The space will be open during the day, there will be a schedule of its work, and we will close it at night. After all, there is no lighting, security, or surveillance cameras there,” Mykola Ryabyka, executive director of the “Plato” NGO, noted.
The fence is planned to be installed already this year. All works will be carried out with the financial assistance of the non-governmental organization “Plato” and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). Fences are planned to be erected in the fall of this year.
