4 more cameras for automatic detection of traffic violations have been launched in Lviv

Today, on 26 August, 4 more automatic traffic violation detection systems have been launched in Lviv.

The new cameras will record speeding in the following places of concentration of road accidents: 44 Bohdanivska Street, 64a and 93 Kulparkivska Street, and 89 Lubinska Street. This was reported by the Lviv City Council’s Department of Safety and Street Infrastructure.

“These locations were chosen because in previous years there were frequent accidents with victims caused by speeding. Accordingly, the city council was able to justify to the patrol police of Ukraine the need to install cameras in these places,” said Pavlo Sirvatka, deputy head of the Lviv City Council’s Department of Security and Street Infrastructure.

The official clarified that such recording systems can be installed only in hazardous areas and in places of concentration of road accidents and only with the written consent of the relevant territorial body of the National Police.

In total, as of today, there are 15 automatic recording systems in operation within the Lviv community.

As a reminder, the fine for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 km/h is UAH 340, and for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h – UAH 1,700.
