The traffic accident happened on January 11, around 06:30, on the highway “Kyiv-Chop” in the village of Dobryany, Stryi district.
As previously determined by law enforcement officers, there was a collision between a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus driven by a 62-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region and a Mercedes 303 bus driven by a 62-year-old resident of one of the villages of Drohobytsky district.
As a result of the accident, two passengers of the minibus from the Ivano-Frankivsk region – a seven-year-old boy and a ten-year-old girl – were injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, investigators of the Stryi district police department opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
