Since the beginning of the year, 31 dead people, including 1 child, have been found in reservoirs in the territory of Lviv region. 5 people, including 3 children, were rescued by units of the State Emergency Service.

Over the past weekend, two more tragic events took place in Lviv Oblast.

So, in the village of Zhvyrka, Chervonograd district, on the Zahidny Bug river, the body of a local resident, born in 1945, was discovered. The fire-rescue department of the 22nd state fire-rescue unit of the city of Sokal pulled the man’s body out of the water with the help of a boat and a rope.

It was also reported that a drowned person was found in the local lake in the village of Krynytsia, Stryi district. The fire-rescue department of the 19th state fire-rescue unit of the city of Mykolaiv together with the operative group of the Stryi RU pulled the body to the shore with the help of a rope and handed it over to the police.

The head office of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region once again appeals to citizens and emphasizes that during recreation near water bodies it is prohibited to:

• swim in places that are not designated by local authorities and are not equipped for bathing people;
• climb on warning signs, buoys, beacons;
• jump into the water from boats, boats, bridges, structures not intended for this purpose;
• bathe alone;
• consume alcoholic beverages before and during bathing;
• allow dangerous games in the water, which are related to the restriction of the movement of arms and legs;
• bathing of children unaccompanied by adults.

All these rules and recommendations indicate the importance of a responsible attitude to recreation on water bodies. We must remember that safety and the safety of others lies in our hands. Let every vacation on the water be a pleasant and safe experience for you and your loved ones.
