The station was opened today, May 28, on the territory of Lviv district in the village of Novyi Yarychiv at 22 Yednosti Square as part of the Community Police Officer project.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of Police of Lviv Region Dmytro Mikhalets, Chief of Lviv District Police Department # 1 Police Colonel Pavlo Harasym, Head of Lviv District Council Oleh Sulima and Head of Kamyanka-Buzka District Administration Khrystyna Zamula.
Police Major Dmytro Savytskyi and Police Captain Anna Moroz, who have undergone specialized training, will perform the duties of a community police officer here.
The area of the Novoyarychiv territorial community is 222 square kilometers, the population is over 18.5 thousand people.
The main task of law enforcement is to ensure law and order in the entrusted territory and create a safe environment for every resident of the community. The policeman is provided with official transport, weapons, means of communication and everything necessary for the service.
In order to better understand the needs of people and respond immediately to their requests, the police officer will live in the service area and will be available to citizens around the clock.
The main responsibilities of a community police officer include maintaining public order, counteracting and preventing offenses, preventive work, and more. The residents themselves will evaluate the activities of the police officer.
It will be recalled that the Community Police Officer project is being implemented by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Oblast together with territorial communities with which relevant memoranda of cooperation have been signed. The main goal of the project is to create a safe environment for each resident. In Lviv oblast, it has already been implemented in 24 territorial communities, 25 police stations have been opened, where 36 community police officers are serving, and by the end of this year their number will increase to 61.
