In the central part of Lviv, fountains are gradually resuming their work

Most of Lviv’s water fountains in the central part of the city have already resumed work from today. As Viktor Dubynyak, the head of the communal services department of the Galician district administration, reported, in view of the state of war, as last year, 11 fountains will function in the city center (6 drinking and 5 ordinary), instead, 5 historical fountains will remain closed – we are talking about 4 fountains on the square . “Lviv’s fountains were preserved for the winter period. So now we are starting the process of putting them into operation. This year, 5 regular fountains will work in our area – this is a dry fountain near the opera house, a dry fountain on the square. Halytskyi (“Da Vinci” fountain), fountain on Sq. Koliivshchyny and two fountains on the street. Copernicus – “Krynitsa with Lions” and “Volodymy”. And we also have 6 drinking fountains – on the square. Rynok, two on Svobody Ave. – near the opera house and at the intersection with St. P. Berindy, two on the street. In fact, starting today, the fountains on the square will be working. Koliivshchyna and on the street Copernicus Regarding the launch of dry fountains – near the opera house and the Da Vinci fountain, the restoration process takes longer here, because there it is necessary to check the operation of all electronics, to flush all tanks and nozzles. Here, more time is needed to correctly restore work and start everything. Approximately in the middle of April, these two fountains will start working.

As for the drinking fountains, almost all of them will function from today, except for the fountain at the transport hub. Here in the near future we have to replace one part and then it will also work.

I would like to note that drinking water circulates in drinking fountains, which additionally passes through special filters that purify the water and make it suitable for drinking. Therefore, residents and guests of our city can use the drinking fountains and safely drink water from them,” said Viktor Dubynyak, head of the utility department of the Galician district administration.
