On Saturday, February 1, a large-scale inspection was conducted over 32 hectares in the floodplains of the Western Bug, located between the villages of Volsvyn, Bendyuha, and the town of Sheptytskyi.
The inspection involved staff from the Chervonohrad Rescue Station, the State Emergency Service (SES), the State Consumer Service, the veterinary service, and representatives from the Sheptytskyi District Military Administration.
During the examination, specialists discovered 38 dead swans. The birds’ bodies were packed in special bags and handed over to experts for further examination to determine the cause of death.
The city council reminded residents about existing restrictions within the buffer zone. It is prohibited to transport poultry, eggs, or other poultry products from this area to other farms. Fishing is also banned. Residents are urged to report any sightings of sick or dead birds in the region to the appropriate authorities immediately.
