Deputies of the Chervonograd City Council decided to organize and hold an architectural competition for the project proposal for the object: “New construction of an administrative and office building of transformation in the city of Chervonograd.”
The client of the competition will be the executive committee of the Chervonograd City Council, with the right to involve third parties in the organization and conduct of the competition. Expenditures will be financed from the city budget. The premium fund will amount to UAH 150,000. 1st prize (place) – 70,000 UAH, 2nd prize – 50,000 UAH, 3rd prize – 30,000 UAH.
As the head of the architecture and urban planning department, chief architect of the city Oleg Gursky, commented, this decision starts the process of organizing and holding an architectural competition to attract the creative architectural and design community to develop a design proposal for a transformational building, which would combine several important functions for the residents of the community, and the building would demonstrate a modern image and concept of transparency and openness with the use of innovative technologies. The functionality of the designed building should include a modern Center for the provision of administrative services, a start-up center for development and transformation, and an educational and cultural community center.
The very process of organizing and holding an architectural competition consists of the following stages:
Determination of the executor of the organizer;
The preparatory stage, which involves:
◾ definition of the performer, definition of the requirements for conducting the competition according to its type and type;
◾ development of a detailed plan-schedule for the organization and conduct of the competition;
◾ determination of qualification requirements for the professional level of competition participants.
◾formation of the topic, goal, development of the detailed task of the competition;
◾ determination of the design territory that meets the requirements of the decision of the executive committee.
In addition, the organization of the competition involves the involvement of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine in the development and approval of the Program and Terms of the competition, organization of exhibitions, creative and public discussion, dissemination of information, formation of the jury. A mandatory condition is broad information of potential participants and their involvement in the competition.
The stage of the competition, which involves the development of presentation materials for the competition, the organization and holding of public events dedicated to the discussion of the competition task and competition projects.
The stage of determining the best project proposal, which will become the basis for the development of design and estimate documentation for the construction of an administrative and office building of transformation.
