Lvivavtodor named the most common mistakes during validation of public transport fares

Lvavtodor named three common mistakes when registering fares with personalised and general LeoCards, bank cards and NFC phones.

“Yes, the first mistake is that passengers put their card/gadget to the validator at random, rather than to the reader on purpose.

To successfully register a trip, you must bring the media with which the trip is paid for/validated to the reading area under the validator screen, where there is a contactless payment mark. If you hold the card at random, the validator may not “see” it, and then the fare will not be registered.

The second mistake is if passengers take the media (card or gadget) away from the reader too quickly and the validator does not have time to recognise it

During the fare validation process, you need to hold your LeoCard, bank card or NFC phone to the contactless reader and wait for a green mark and a single beep.

The third mistake is that passengers do not look at the screen of the validator during fare collection.

Please note a green mark on the validator accompanied by a single beep confirms successful fare registration. If you are paying by phone, be sure to wait for such a mark on the validator, not just on your gadget,” Lvivavtodor said.

By the way, today in Lviv 65% of passengers validate/pay for public transport with LeoCards. In total, residents have issued and purchased 380 thousand personalised and general LeoCards.
