Lviv district: a man died in a fire

On 17 November, at 12:33, the Rescue Service received a report of a fire in the village of Rudne on Zaliznychna Street, Lviv district. The fire started in an apartment on the first floor of a three-apartment brick two-storey residential building.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, thick black smoke was coming out of one of the rooms. The residents of the building reported that there might be people in the apartment on fire.

While exploring the smoke-filled apartment, the rescuers found a man in one of the rooms and took him out into the fresh air. The man had no signs of life, so the rescuers started cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they continued to provide assistance. However, they failed to save the man. The deceased was the owner of the apartment, a man born in 1976.

At 12:52, firefighters contained the fire and at 12:57 eliminated it over an area of 5 square metres.

Nine rescuers and 2 units of special equipment were engaged in the firefighting operations.

The causes and circumstances of the fire are under investigation.
