Rescuers rescued a couple from a burning apartment in Sheptytske

On 07 October at 17:04, rescuers received a report of a fire in Sheptytskyi on Sokalska Street.

The fire broke out on the third floor of a five-storey residential building, where smoke was coming out of the window of one of the apartments.

An elderly couple were in the apartment when the fire was extinguished.

Firefighters took them out into the fresh air.

The woman was not breathing, and the rescuers, together with doctors, carried out resuscitation measures on the spot to stabilise her condition.

Both victims were in critical condition and were rushed to the intensive care unit of Sheptytska Central District Hospital.

The fire was contained at 17:25 and eliminated at 17:32.

Household items over an area of 20 sq m and balcony lining over an area of 2 sq m were on fire.

A total of 11 rescuers and 3 units of special equipment were engaged in the firefighting operations.
