Two men were poisoned by carbon monoxide in Zhydachevo and Stryyshchyna

As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the cause of the men’s death was carbon monoxide poisoning.

On December 18, the police received a report that the bodies of two men without signs of life were found in one of the apartments on Stepan Bandera Street in Zhydachevo.

An investigative and operative group, criminalists and employees of other services of the territorial division of the police worked at the scene. As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the cause of death of the 59-year-old owner of the apartment and the 44-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Stryi district was carbon monoxide poisoning.

Investigators of the Stryi district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 270 (Violation of fire or man-made safety requirements established by law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the event, an examination has been scheduled.

The police of the Lviv Region remind that carbon monoxide cannot be seen or smelled. In order not to become a victim of the “silent killer”, regularly check gas appliances, ventilation ducts and chimneys for serviceability. The life and health of you and your relatives depends on it.
