On 20 August, at 19:15, a fire was reported at 14 Shafaryk Street in Lviv.
The fire was in the kitchen in an apartment on the seventh floor of a nine-storey residential building.
When firefighters arrived, thick black smoke was coming out of the windows of the apartment. As it turned out, there was no one in the apartment. So to get inside the apartment, the rescuers had to open the door with a hand tool.
The room was filled with toxic combustion products. Wearing special respiratory and visual protection equipment, firefighters began to eliminate the fire. At 19:42, the firefighters localised the fire and eliminated it at 19:44. The fire destroyed household items over an area of 10 square metres.
The fire was extinguished by 15 rescuers and 3 units of special equipment. No one was injured in the incident.
