What to do when you see an explosive: training for migrants was held in Lviv

In Sensoteka, in Stryj Park, IDPs have been taught how to behave when they see explosive or suspicious objects.

The master class was conducted by representatives of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv Oblast, Lviv State University of Life Safety and Personnel Management of Lviv City Council.

“Non-humans leave behind bombs and explosives in civilian homes. Worst of all, when people were able to save themselves during the war, they died from such objects through carelessness or ignorance when they returned home. That’s why we want to show them what can await them at home and teach them how to handle explosives. During the training, they have the opportunity not only to hear the theoretical course, but also to see with their own eyes what these subjects look like and what harm they can bring, “said Ivan Movchan, Vice-Rector of Lviv State University of Life Safety.

During the event, rescuers demonstrated samples of explosive and suspicious objects and taught training participants the correct actions in case they are found.

“We are not just conducting our trainings. Currently, a large number of IDPs live in Lviv from those areas where active hostilities are taking place. Enemies leave behind a large number of explosive devices. When these people return home, they must be ready for anything. That is why a whole series of such exercises has been planned in Lviv, both for migrants and citizens, ”said Bohdana Yaremchuk, head of the Lviv City Council’s personnel department.
