Climate of Lviv Region in February: Analysis of Past Years and Forecast for 2025

By analyzing long-term weather data for February in the Lviv Region, one can notice considerable fluctuations in temperatures and precipitation during this winter period. Over the past years, the average monthly temperature in the plains fluctuates from 0.5 to 1.5 degrees Celsius below zero, while in the mountains this figure ranges from 2.4 to 2.8 degrees below zero.

Extreme conditions are also common, with absolute temperature minimums reaching down to -31 to -35 degrees Celsius, and absolute maximums in the plains up to 18-20 degrees Celsius warm, in the mountains up to 16 degrees warm.

The average amount of precipitation during the month usually ranges from 38-62 mm. According to forecasts, the average monthly air temperature in the plains in February 2025 is expected to be around 0.5 degrees Celsius warm, which is 1.0-2.0 degrees above normal, and in the mountains about -2.0 degrees Celsius, which is 0.4-0.8 degrees above normal.

Regarding precipitation, it is expected to be around 33 mm in the plains and 48 mm in the mountains, which represents 67-86% of the norm. This indicates a somewhat drier February than usual.
